Who am I?
I’m Bryony! My pronouns are she/her. I’m from Brighton, England but I live in Pontypridd, Wales. I’m a wife, rescue dog mum, full time furniture designer and small business owner.
I love beach walks and mountain trail hikes, a strong coffee and grabbing food out.
I love to travel with my spouse Hayley (they/them) and we’re always planning our next adventure. When we travel, I dig out my point and shoot film camera and document our travels on 35mm film.
I’m a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and strive to make my corner of the wedding industry inclusive and welcoming, for both the areas of the community I occupy and as a fierce ally for others.
Why stationery design?
As long as I can remember, I’ve loved designing. I love imagining, planning and crafting something physical. At university, I not only designed but handmade entire outfits. The entire process from research, material sourcing, practicing and producing gets me excited! I really do enjoy the whole creative journey.
After designing and making all of my own wedding stationery, I realised how much I loved it. I love working within a niche and pushing the boundaries of what can be done. Exploring different paper finishes, adding fabric embellishments and rethinking traditional wedding design - it all goes hand in hand with my previous education and experience.
How would I describe my style?
I would mostly describe my style is ever-evolving. It only takes one small thing for me to become obsessed with a new vibe and expand my style to absorb it. I love texture, layering, natural influences and colour. Whether monotone, harmonious palettes or clashing colours - I love them all. Colour, to me, is a feeling; I can feel it in my bones when the colours pop just right!
Who is “travel in parallel”?
Firstly, travel in parallel is a weird name right? Yeah kinda. I read it in a book (Find Me by Andre Aciman if you’re interested!) and it really stuck with me. It describes two people’s lives, moving forward in the same direction, not meeting at a point… until it does. I thought it was so visual and a perfect name for my business.
More than this, travel in parallel is an extension of me, influenced by you. You set me a brief based on who you are, what you like, how you envisage your day and I interpret it into my style and what feels balanced. It’s a collaboration between me and you.
Could I be the right fit for you?
